BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide derived from a partial sequence of a protein found in human gastric juice. It has been studied in preclinical (animal-model) and in vitro research for its role in tissue-repair processes, including tendon-to-bone healing (Journal of Orthopaedic Research, 2006), angiogenesis during muscle and tendon healing (2009), growth hormone receptor expression in tendon fibroblasts (Molecules, 2014), and gastrointestinal tissue healing in rat models (2020). Preclinical dosing in the cited literature is reported in micrograms-per-kilogram body weight, which does not translate to a specific human-scale dose.
