What the phase 2 retatrutide trial actually measured

Retatrutide's phase 2 data (NEJM, 2023) is the most-cited paper behind our product page. Here's what it actually measured, and where it stops short of answering the question researchers ask us most.

The trial tracked a weekly dose range from 0.5mg up to 12mg across 48 weeks, with body weight as the primary endpoint and glycemic and lipid markers as secondary ones. The dose-response curve wasn't linear: the largest marginal gains showed up between the low and mid-range doses, with diminishing returns as the dose climbed further. What the paper doesn't do is tell you anything about the vial sizes on this site. 10mg, 20mg and 30mg are packaging decisions for reconstitution convenience, not studied doses in themselves — the compound and mechanism are identical across every vial.
